RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. (April 4, 2007) - Virtual Heroes Inc., the leader in “Advanced Learning Technologies” learning solutions, today announced that founder and CEO Jerry Heneghan has been selected to speak at the Army Individual Training Authority (AITA) Symposium on Advanced Learning Technologies held this week in Gagetown, New Brunswick, Canada. The symposium will showcase concepts and technologies that are being used to define and develop the AITA’s "Future Learning Environment" program for military training in Canada.
Major Tim Workman, spokesman for the Canadian Army Individual Training Authority, stated, "In conjunction with our event co-sponsors, LearnNB and the New Brunswick Aerospace and Defense Association, we felt that Virtual Heroes could make a significant contribution to this event by speaking about their views on emerging learning technologies as well as demonstrating some of their products. Not only has their past work in the military training environment been noteworthy, their new endeavors such as HumanSim show how their products will be able to support a range of applications in many other educational fields.”
“Virtual Heroes’ development of products designed to support next-generation learners, combined with the leadership and vision they have shown in the establishment and growth of the North Carolina Advanced Learning Technologies Association, makes them very well suited to support our Symposium on Advanced Learning Technologies, which will be used to initiate the development of a future learning environment that will support a broad range of learners in both military and non-military employment fields,” Workman added.
Prior to starting Virtual Heroes, Heneghan was responsible for creating and fielding new medical training technologies for first responders at Research Triangle Institute (RTI). He also served as a Game Producer at Tom Clancy's Red Storm Entertainment and as a U.S. Army Aviator (AH-64 pilot). Virtual Heroes Federal Systems Division representatives will provide one-on-one demonstrations of its advanced learning technology solutions platform at the symposium.
Virtual Heroes is perhaps best known for its work with the America’s Army Training Platform architecture and the Adaptive Thinking and Leadership “ATL” application for the JFK Special Warfare Center and School. Today, the company provides advanced learning technology solutions and services for a number of organizations in federal systems, healthcare and commercial industries.
About the AITA Symposium on Advanced Learning Technologies The AITA Symposium on Advanced Learning Technologies, to be conducted 3-4 April 2007 at CFB Gagetown, near Oromocto, NB, will be used to showcase the concepts and technologies that are being used to define and develop AITA's "Future Learning Environment" for military training. This environment is being designed to support learners wherever they are and throughout their career, whether engaged in formal or informal learning experiences, and whether in an educational or operational context. This concept is reflected in the title theme of the symposium: “Learning, From the Classroom to Combat.” For more information, visit http://armyelearning.ca/.
